Das Schwarze Auge Ral Partha Scale comparison

Das Schwarze Auge (sold by Ral Partha)

These were pretty cheap over at: Ral Partha so i decided to give them a go.

Here's how they scale up with frostgrave and GW minis.

Slightly closer pics:

Here we have (in order):
  •  DSA 15048 huntress with dog
  • DSA 15501A Thorwalian Warrior chieftain with warhound
  • GW free company militia
  • DSA 15040 Female mercenary
  • DSA 19024B Lutisana Von Perricum
  • Frostgrave soldier
  • DSA 19024A Helme Haffax armoured w/sword
  • GW Brettonian man at arms
  • DSA 19024E Rakolus Von Schrotenstein. Dark Magician
  • 15507H Schwertgeselle Swordmaster
  • 15507F Norbadische Handlerin Travelling Trader
As you can see the quality of the casting ist great with vert few mould lines for me to tidy up. The scale is marginally smaller than GW and GW, but not hugely. I'd happily include these alongside the other miniatures- especially to represent younger or weedier warband members.

Ral Partha Miniatures

I decided to take a punt and grab some reduced Ral Partha 28mm adventurers to add to various warband. So here they are:

This is Lord Maverick of clan bear, a FG soldier to show scale, the envoker, the printable mage, a GW brettonian and a Zulu warrior.

The scale matches pretty well with FG and GW and could be mixed within a warband. The Ral Partha are a bit skinnier but it's still within a passable size.

Rapier miniatures

Hi folks,

Just opened up an order I placed with Rapier Miniatures. They may not have the biggest range but they do have some brilliant witches, scarecrows and other bits and all of their models are very modestly priced. I also got an ice road, complete with a fez for £1.50! Bargain!

All had really minor mould lines and took only the minimal amount of clearing up.

Here's a few of them with a FG plastic archer and a GW brettonian for scale conparison. As you can see they scale up pretty well.

Oh, they also do pumpkin heads which I've stuck on a couple of gripping beast warriors as thugs.
